ABSTRACT
Abstract Objective The transition to parenthood might negatively influence health‐related behavior and can result in increased adiposity. aim of this study was investigate how body composition mother–father dyads changes from pregnancy up 6 months post partum. Methods Anthropometrics were collected 144 nulliparous couples at 12 weeks gestation (PG12) (PP6WK) (PP6M) A longitudinal dyadic confirmatory factor analysis model used analyze composition. Body treated as a latent variable using BMI, fat percentage, waist circumference indicators. Results For women, means partum (PP6WK − PG12: +1.115, SE: 0.117, p < 0.001), decreased again (PP6M PP6WK: −0.368, 0.107, but remained above baseline levels +0.747; 0.115, 0.001). men, the follow‐up higher than (PP6WK‐PG12: +0.370, 0.075; PP6M‐PG12: +0.366, 0.084, both Conclusions Increases correspond unfavorable circumference. These observed beginning Weight management for women men during early postpartum period is recommended fathers should be included pre‐ postnatal standard care.
