ABSTRACT
To compare the time duration of self-completion (SC) Edmonton Symptom Assessment Scale (ESAS) by patients with advanced cancer (ACPs) versus assisted completion (AC) a health care professional.In this randomized comparison ACPs seen in initial consultation at outpatient Supportive Care Center MD Anderson, who have never completed ESAS Anderson were allocated (1:1) to either SC form AC nurse. Time was measured nurse using stopwatch. Patients Rapid Estimate Adult Literacy Medicine (REALM) test prior administration ESAS.
