ABSTRACT
Colorectal cancer liver metastases (CRCLM) that present with a replacement histopathological growth pattern (HGP) are resistant to neoadjuvant anti-angiogenic therapy. Surrogate biomarkers not available preoperatively identify patients these tumors. Here we differentially expressed genes between CRCLM HGP and those desmoplastic using RNA sequencing. We demonstrate LOXL4 is transcriptionally upregulated in compared the adjacent normal liver. Interestingly, lysyl oxidase-like 4 (LOXL4) protein was by neutrophils tumor microenvironment CRCLM. further expression higher circulating of healthy control its can be induced stimulation lipopolysaccharide TNF-α. Our study first show reveals potential for LOXL4-expressing support phenotype serve as surrogate biomarker this subtype © 2020 Pathological Society Great Britain Ireland.
