ABSTRACT
Eucalyptus species are widely cultivated in Mediterranean regions. Moreover, plants of this family have been utilized for medicinal purposes. A number studies devoted to the identification eucalypt phenolics, all them focused on specific families compounds, and no exhaustive profiling has reported leaves plant. To develop methods that allows quantification different classes phenolics globulus leaf.Acetonic extract was fractionated by chromatography a Sephadex LH-20 column using consecutive elution with ethanol, methanol aqueous acetone (60%). High-performance liquid coupled diode array detection electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (HPLC-DAD-ESI/MS) were applied determine structure compounds. Quantities evaluated from peak areas HPLC profile, external calibration curves.Fractionation acetonic yielded three fractions: F1, F2 F3. In total 39 phenolic compounds detected. Among them: 16 hydrolyzable tannins, 3 terpenyl derivatives, 12 ellagic acid 5 flavonols, 2 hydroxybenzoic acids 1 formylated phloroglucinol. 26 described study not previously detected plant is first report quercetin 3-O-β-galactoside-6"-O-gallate cypellogin B, E. plant. Quantitatively, derivatives sideroxylonal or B largely predominant.Fractionation crude efficient separate molecular weight HPLC-DAD-ESI/MS enabled gallotannin, ellagitannin flavonol globulus.
