ABSTRACT
Abstract Type 2 diabetes is a growing global problem that not only affects individuals but also has an impact upon the economic health of countries. The number people developing type can be reduced by up to 80%; this achieved targeting those who are ‘at risk’. This reduction appropriate lifestyle changes diet and physical activity. It known what being informed diagnosis pre‐diabetes on individual's motivation make changes. aim study was assess whether having encourages or empowers prevent progression diabetes. Employing systematic approach, integrative literature review undertaken using standard retrieval appraisal method. studies demonstrated found challenging concept patients nurses alike. Lack knowledge support, along with patients’ perceived barriers, had various self‐efficacy behaviours towards more education support required motivate change in person pre‐diabetes. This, however, does need medicine led; use peer community based programmes could cheaper, have ability provide potentially long‐term for people, would continued risk. Intervention needs ensure it provided at level account cultural, social gender needs. Innovative approaches considered reduce diagnosed from progressing its associated potential complications.
