ABSTRACT
Abstract Purpose The aim of this study was to examine the potential benefit take into account duration and intensity drug exposure using recently published method based on individual trajectories. This approach used define profiles anxiolytics/hypnotics during pregnancy evaluate effect newborn health. Methods performed in EFEMERIS database (54 918 mother–children pairs). An estimation adaptation extrauterine life assessed several criteria especially cardio‐respiratory symptoms. A proxy variable called “neonatal pathology” created. occurrence event studied two approaches: Standard Method comparing exposed unexposed newborns, Trajectory different exposure. Results Around 5% newborns ( n = 2768) were identified be anxiolytics or hypnotics pregnancy. Using Method, 6.2% developed a against 4.8% (odds ratios [OR] 0.9[0.8–1.2], p 0.7). With taking evolution treatment intensity, four pregnant women identified. significant difference rates pathologies” observed between 0.0002). Newborns utero high constant level more at risk developing than (OR 1 2.0 [1.0–3.9] OR 2 7.6 [2.8–20.5]).
