ABSTRACT
Abstract Polyethylene‐clay hybrids have been prepared successfully by melt compounding with maleic anhydride grafted polyethylene (MA‐g‐PE), organophilic clay and polyethylene. In these polyethylene‐clay hybrids, the silicate layers of were exfoliated dispersed to monolayers. The exhibit higher tensile yield strengths moduli than those matrices polyethylene‐inorganic composites. When 5‐wt% clays loaded, strength modulus hybrid were, respectively, 1.4 1.8 times polyethylene/MA‐g‐PE mixture. gas permeability that decreased 30% compared
