ABSTRACT
Ketamine may be used to manage pain and agitation that is refractory what are usually considered traditional agents such as fentanyl, propofol, benzodiazepines, dexmedetomidine; however, literature describing the use of ketamine continuous infusions for this purpose in critically ill trauma patients limited.The primary objective study was determine impact initiation a infusion on sedative analgesic patients. Secondary objectives were identify patient population which initiated, assess proportion time at their goal level sedation, dosing patterns adjunctive agents.This single-center retrospective chart review over 19-month period included mechanically ventilated adult whom initiated management sedation agitation. Patients who received other indications or by acute service not evaluation.Thirty-six study. tended white men with blunt trauma. Overall, associated decrease amount opioids propofol an increase ziprasidone dexmedetomidine needed achieve Richmond Agitation Sedation Score.
