ABSTRACT
Dimensional models of personality have been widely acknowledged in the field as alternatives to a trait-based system nomenclature. While importance dimensional has established, less is known about constructs underlying these dimensions. Emotion regulation one such potential construct. The goal current study was examine relationship between dimensions and emotion regulation. More specifically, predictive capacity accounting for symptoms on Schedule Nonadaptive Adaptive Personality-2 above beyond measure general distress evaluated. found be most disorders. Consistent with hypotheses, variables associated undercontrol emotions were traits Cluster B disorders whereas A C related overcontrol emotions. These findings provide preliminary evidence that some never assessed relation are strongly predicted by variables. Thus, present facilitates an initial step understanding multidimensional model Copyright © 2017 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
