ABSTRACT
Gas explosion is one of the most serious problems in operation electrostatic precipitation (ESP) which applied to purify producer gas. Simulation study on gas ESP has been conducted with computational fluid dynamic method. Producer was studied experimentally a closed rectangular vessel validate simulation results. Numerical results were proved be reliable and reasonable could meet engineering needs. The factors flame propagation pressure variation have also analyzed. Furthermore, effects those parameters such as premixed oxygen concentration, operating conditions, local clouds high content discussed. show that maximum rises sharply concentration increasing. Meanwhile, increases boosting, but decreases while temperature elevates. Explosion cloud linear function its volume. For this model, critical diameter 1.2 m 20%. volumetric ratio model 0.04. This gives reference for optimization monitoring‐feedback system response, can provide theoretical guidance design protection. © 2015 American Institute Chemical Engineers Process Saf Prog 35: 96–102, 2016
