ABSTRACT
Abstract TiO 2 ‐based high‐refractive‐index glasses without any network former oxides were fabricated by containerless processing in an aerodynamic levitation furnace. The glass‐forming region of a BaO‐LaO 3/2 ‐TiO ternary system was determined. Moreover, the glass transition and crystallization temperatures (La 1− x Ba ) 4 Ti 9 O 24 LaO ‐ M ( = Ga, Y, Gd, Hf, W, Zn Ge, Nb, Ta, Bi, Ba) obtained. Finally, refractive index dispersion Gd) also investigated. results indicate that these are promising materials for future optical applications visible region. (© 2012 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
