ABSTRACT
A topological oxide insulator is not yet experimentally observed. However, it theoretically predicted to exist in the perovskite YBiO3, which paves way for further investigations into possible properties. In article no. 1800679, Rosa Luca Bouwmeester et al. show that by using a BaBiO3 buffer layer, Y–Bi–O system stabilizes its thermodynamically unstable phase instead of favorable fluorite structure. On background cover, high resolution scanning transmission electron microscope image interface between thin film and SrTiO3 substrate shown. Here, rocksalt layer accommodates 12% lattice mismatch two structures so fully relaxed afterwards.
