ABSTRACT
Although matrine, a primary active component of dried Sophora flavescens root (ku shen), is known to induce apoptosis in variety tumor cells vitro , the molecular mechanism such remains elusive. This analysis cell cycle and matrine‐treated human gallbladder carcinoma (GBC‐SD) showed that matrine can indeed inhibit proliferation G1 arrest dose‐ time‐dependent manner. An additional western blot also caspase‐3 Bcl‐2 activation, as well cyclinE down‐regulation. Overall, results indicate perturbs cancer progression during phase by down‐regulating induces decreasing expression antiapoptotic protein increasing proapoptotic Bax.
