ABSTRACT
Abstract Benzaldehyde is an important chemical intermediate, which need to be prepared through eco‐friendly process. Manganese oxides are active as catalysts for its preparation partial oxidation of benzyl alcohol. In this study, Cu, Co and Mn containing spinel based mixed (Cu x 3− O 4 ) were tested alcohol get benzaldehyde with high selectivity. The catalytic activity strongly depended on composition, acid‐base properties oxygen uptake. influence reaction temperature, pressure the weight hourly space velocity (WHSV) investigated optimize yield stabilize catalyst activity. A selectivity 98%, accompanied conversion 84.5% was obtained over Cu 0.25 2.75 at 300 °C. It evident from temperature programmed desorption (TPD) CO 2 that found have optimum basicity uptake, thus imparting stability. Activity life could attributed appropriate properties.
