ABSTRACT
With the advent of era precision medicine, prostate‐specific membrane antigen (PSMA)‐targeted theranostic strategies have had a profound impact on prostate cancer research. As specific target, PSMA is not only widely expressed in tissues but its expression also correlated with tumor aggressiveness. Because noninvasiveness, real‐time nature, high sensitivity, and low side effects phototheranostics, recent years, there has been rapid advancement PSMA‐targeted such as near‐infrared fluorescence imaging imaging‐guided surgical navigation, photoacoustic imaging, dual‐modality hybrid photodynamic therapy, photothermal therapy. Herein, design application various types probes photosensitizers based targeting developed past two decades are reviewed, focus molecular for fluorescent tracers. In addition, challenges future opportunities clinical translation phototheranostics field discussed.
