ABSTRACT
The heterogeneous population of non-haematopoietic cells residing in the bone marrow (bone stromal cells, BMSCs) and different fractions components obtained from platelet-rich plasma provide an invaluable source autologous growth factors for other connective tissue reconstruction. In this study, we investigated effect allogenic platelet lysate on human BMSCs proliferation differentiation. Cell number performed cell doublings were enhanced cultures supplemented with platelet-derived (platelet lysate, PL), either or without concomitant addition fetal bovine serum (FBS), compared to presence FBS FGF2. Both vitro vivo osteogenic differentiation unaltered maintained medium PL not (Only PL) containing Interestingly, cartilage formation was more effective pellet expanded Only medium. particular, a chondrogenic observed pellets some vitro-expanded medium, whereas parallel did respond induction. We conclude that is even beneficial substitute support expansion subsequent tissue-engineering applications.
