ABSTRACT
Abstract In recent years, the issue of high groundwater levels has caught attention. Unfavorable consequences are especially damage to buildings, infrastructure, and environment. Processes that lead hydrological (heavy or extended rainfall flood events), anthropogenic (reduced extractions, interaction with sewer networks, hydraulic engineering measures, structural interventions in water balance, mining activities). Several different map products have been prepared for information inhabitants planning purposes, also methods risk analysis related developed. Groundwater management measures available reduce levels. An operational system could be combined from existing components, but forecasting systems are—different systems—not yet common practice. A better understanding processes development integrated approaches modeling, design, planning, forecasting, warning, as well improvement interdisciplinary collaboration between organizations, recommendations future.
