ABSTRACT
Abstract Wind turbine farms suffer from wake losses, where the downstream turbines generate less power, and/or leading are throttled to reduce power losses. In this paper, we focus on possible external modifications that can enhance wind turbines' performance when they operating in a farm environment. particular, study is interested enhancing of farms. The idea move each turbine's down and away subsequent turbines. This goal achieved by using stationary airfoils placed proximity rotating blades. A number different designs tested design concepts Reynolds‐Averaged Navier‐Stokes simulations an aligned array 2 modeled as actuator disks with axial induction velocity field turbulent atmospheric boundary layer. It found fixed enable partial or full recovery at separations small 3 rotor diameters downstream. We will also demonstrate some devices improve upstream turbine. physical reasons for these phenomena discussed.
