ABSTRACT
Abstract In this work a semiempirical approximation toLx-ray production cross sections by proton impact was obtained for scaled velocity parameters ξsgreater than 0.25. ECPSSR ionization cross sections were determined and Krause and Scofield atomic parameters were used to calculate x-ray production cross sections. Based on the definition of final vacancy distributions of Bambynek et al. (1972), an empirical correction was made. The corrected values of the x-ray production cross sections are presented in a table.
