ABSTRACT
Mating frequency amongPlodia interpunctella (Hubner) held in enclosed environments was reduced in the presence of the synthetic sex pheromone, (Z,E)-9,12-tetradecadien-l-ol acetate. The effectiveness of any dose of pheromone was markedly increased as population densities were decreased from 10 to 0.1 pairs/m2 of wall and ceiling surface. Mating behaviors of the insect are described.
