Determining embedding circuit parameters from DC measurements on quasiparticle mixers

ABSTRACT
This article contains a brief description of the so-called “Eye-Ball” method, a way to determine the microwave properties of quasiparticle mixer mounts from DC measurements. Also described is a more efficient algorithm, the novel “RF voltage match” method, which provides increased computational speed by a factor of 2500. Both methods have been tried out on data obtained from measurements on real SIS mixers, and results are presented for 3 different mounts operating at 46, 90 and 345 GHz.
