ABSTRACT
Lattice constant, elastic moduli, tensile strength, microhardness, Poisson coefficient, and characteristic Debye temperature were determined for ZrN/sub x/ (x = 0.487 to 0.996) and NbC/sub x/ (x = 0.723 to 0.96). The variations with composition are discussed and explained on the basis of stable electron configurations. (DLC)
