ABSTRACT
We show the effect of interlayer discontinuities on the load-carrying capacity of carbon-reinforced laminates. The interlayer defects are simulated by introducing polypropylene films between the layers. We describe the types of fracture of flat specimens for different stacking modes and defects of various sizes under both tensile loading and in the case of three-point bending.
