ABSTRACT
A number of phenomenologically relevant processes at hadron colliders, such as Higgs and Z boson production in association with b quarks, can be conveniently described scattering heavy quarks the initial state. We present a detailed analysis this class processes, identifying form leading initial-state collinear logarithms that allow relation calculations performed different flavour schemes simple reliable way. This procedure makes it possible to assess size logarithmically enhanced terms effects their resummation via heavy-quark parton distribution functions. As an application, we compare (SM-like heavy) scalar vector bosons LHC four- five-flavour well ′ top future 100 TeV collider five- six-flavour schemes. find that, agreement previous single initiated is mitigated by kinematical suppression. The most important are shift central predictions typically about 20% justified value scale each considered process significant reduction variation uncertainties.
