ABSTRACT
A bstract We implement a universal method for renormalizing AdS gravity actions applicable to arbitrary higher curvature theories in up five dimensions. The renormalization procedure considers the extrinsic counterterm Einstein-AdS given by Kounterterms scheme, but with theory-dependent coupling constant that is fixed requirement of vacuum solution. This shown work generic couplings except zero measure subset, which includes well-known examples where asymptotic behavior modified and vacua are degenerate, such as Chern-Simons 5D, Conformal Gravity 4D New Massive 3D. In order show universality we perform decomposition equations motion into their normal tangential components respect Poincare coordinate study Fefferman-Graham expansion metric. verify cancellation divergences on-shell action well-posedness variational principle.
