ABSTRACT
Metabolomics has opened new avenues for studying metabolic alterations in type 2 diabetes. While many urine and blood metabolites have been associated individually with diabetes, a complete systems view analysis of dysregulations across multiple biofluids over varying timescales glycaemic control is still lacking. Here we report broad metabolomics study clinical setting, covering 2,178 metabolite measures saliva, plasma from 188 individuals diabetes 181 controls Arab Asian descent. Using multivariate linear regression identified markers acute, short-term long-term control.Ninety-four associations were at Bonferroni level significance (p < 2.3 × 10(-5)), 16 which never reported. Sixty-five these diabetes-associated least one marker the group. Gaussian graphical modelling, constructed network that links three different control. Our reveals complex biochemical dysregulation involving pathways pathology, provides reference framework future studies endpoints.
