ABSTRACT
Imperatorin, a naturally occurring furanocoumarin, inactivates gamma-aminobutyric acid transaminase and inhibits acetylcholinesterase activity. The purpose of our experiment was to examine the influence imperatorin on cognitive impairment oxidative stress in brain induced by scopolamine male Swiss mice.In present studies, we used scopolamine-invoke memory deficit measured passive avoidance (PA) paradigm as an animal model Alzheimer disease (AD).Our finding revealed that administered acutely at doses 5 10 mg/kg prior injection (1 mg/kg) improved acquisition consolidation impaired scopolamine. Furthermore, repeatable (7 days, twice daily) administration highest dose (10 significantly attenuated effects acquisition, whereas this furanocoumarin were effective when measured. with scopolamine, increased antioxidant enzymes activity decreased concentration malondiamide, indicator lipid peroxidation level. These results demonstrate may offer protection against scopolamine-induced impairments possesses properties, thus after further preclinical clinical studies compound provide interesting approach pharmacotherapy, well prophylactics AD.
