ABSTRACT
Abstract The aim of this study was to determine the changes occurring in wood cellulose fast-growing poplar ( Populus deltoides × maximowiczii ) under influence steam explosion (SE) pretreatment. Cellulose from native and after pretreatment at 160 205 °C isolated. polymerization degree by size exclusion chromatography (SEC) crystallinity index Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy-attenuated total reflectance (FTIR-ATR) were determined. profiles sugars solid fraction (using acid hydrolysis method) also In addition, profile monosaccharides liquid obtained oligosaccharides investigated using high-performance (HPLC). This allowed change yield hexoses pentoses studied material. behavior subjected isolated Kürschner–Hoffer method determining absorption bands FTIR-ATR spectra. lateral order (LOI) calculated ratio intensity corresponding A 1422 /A 896 cm −1 .
