ABSTRACT
The incidence of vascular complications varies among different fillers. main purpose this study was to compare the risk embolism between PMMA (Artecoll) and hyaluronic acid (HA, Restylane) after artery injection. Rabbit ears were injected via central with 0.1 ml (group A), HA B), 0.2 C), or mL D), respectively. formation transparent emboli monitored right Tissue necrosis histopathological changes analyzed on day 7. With volume, dispersed within a few minutes only 5% had mild 7, while tended form obvious emboli, an indication blood vessel clotting, 60% showed complete clotting in group group, 30% necrosis; contrast, 100% HA-injected necrosis. areas significantly increased groups compared at same injection volumes. also caused dilation small vessels. At less HA. there risks for both This journal requires that authors assign level evidence each article.
