Radioactive Iodine Ablation Decrease Recurrences in Papillary Thyroid Microcarcinoma with Lateral Lymph Node Metastasis in Chinese Patients

Abstract Introduction We aimed to carry out a retrospective study from single institution determine whether radioactive iodine (RAI) ablation decreases the risk of recurrence papillary thyroid microcarcinoma (PTMC) patients that presented with lateral lymph node metastasis (LLNM). Methods retrospectively analyzed total 6361 consecutive PTMC who initially underwent surgery for treatment carcinoma at First Hospital Jilin University, between January 2005 and February 2015. Altogether, 137 LLNM have been enrolled in our study.
