ABSTRACT
The purpose of the study was to quantitatively evaluate size quadratus lumborum and precisely display its growth dynamics in human foetus.Using anatomical dissection, digital-image analysis (NIS Elements AR 3.0) statistical (Student's t test, regression analysis), length, width, surface area, cross-sectional area were measured, width-to-length ratio calculated 58 foetuses both sexes (26♂, 32♀) aged 16-27 weeks.Neither sex nor right-left significant differences found relation with numerical data growing lumborum. muscle increased logarithmically, while proportionately fetal age. following models computed for lumborum: y = -70.397 + 68.501 × ln(age) ± 1.170 -20.435 8.815 0.703 -196.035 14.838 age 13.745 -48.958 20.909 1.100 area. The reveals neither bilateral differences. An increase length width follows a commensurate fashion. grows logarithmically respect area.
