ABSTRACT
Direct bioimpedance measures [resistance, reactance, phase angle] determined by bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) detect changes in tissue electrical properties. Bioelectrical vector (BIVA) technique is a promising tool, using the pure data obtained BIA evaluation for screening and monitoring of nutrition hydration status. BIVA has potential to be used as routine method clinical setting assessment management body fluids. The study was conducted evaluate soft mass through pattern plots height, normalized resistance, reactance measurements bioelectric patients with head neck cancer. Whole were made ImpediMed 134 adult, white, male subjects 22-87 years old: 67 cancer (H&NC) healthy volunteers matched sex, age BMI control group. All previously untreated without active nutritional interventions. Mean vectors H&NC group versus characterized an increased resistance component reduced (separate 95% confidence limits, P < 0.05). may offer objective improve decision-making predict outcomes.
