ABSTRACT
To assess the clinical value of drug-eluting bead trans-arterial chemoembolization (DEB-TACE) combined with microwave ablation (MWA) vs. MWA treatment alone for early stage hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).Consecutive data from 102 HCC patients at who were referred to our hospital December 2014 May 2016 retrospectively collected. Forty-seven underwent DEB-TACE treatment, whereas 55 alone. After 1 month tumour responses assessed using mRECIST criteria. Treatment-related complications and hepatic function also analysed two groups. In addition, overall survival (OS) progression-free (PFS) calculated compared.Patients in group (DEB-TACE MWA) presented a better objective response rate (ORR) disease control (DCR) compared those monotherapy (MWA treatment). The median OS PFS longer group. Multivariate Cox's regression further illustrated that + was an independent protective factor OS. No serious treatment-related observed any patients.Combined appeared have advantages prolonging MWA. Therefore, efficient should be strongly recommended patients.
