ABSTRACT
Abstract Background/aim In terms of breast cancer risk, there is no consensus on the effect uric acid (UA) levels. The aim our study was to clarify link between UA and risk in a prospective case–control find threshold point. Methods We designed with 1050 females (525 newly diagnosed patients 525 controls). measured levels at baseline confirmed incidence through postoperative pathology. used binary logistic regression association UA. addition, we performed restricted cubic splines evaluate potential nonlinear links risk. analysis identify cut-off Results After adjusting for multiple confounding factors, found that compared referential level (3.5–4.4 mg/dl), odds ratio (OR) 1.946 (95% CI 1.140–3.321) ( P < 0.05) lowest 2.245 0.946–5.326) > highest level. Using bar diagram, disclosed J-shaped -nonlinear after all confounders. study, 3.6 mg/dl be which acted as optimal turning point curve. OR 0.170 0.056–0.512) left 1.283 1.074–1.532) right log likelihood test 0.05). Conclusion Controlling around provides novel insight into prevention.
