ABSTRACT
Peanut, found to be relatively drought tolerant crop, has been the choice of study characterize genes expressed under gradual water deficit stress. Nearly 700 were identified enriched in subtractive cDNA library from process stress adaptation. Further, expression inducible related various signaling components and gene sets involved protecting cellular function described based on dot blot experiments. Fifty (25 regulators 25 functional genes) selected experiments tested for their responsiveness using northern analysis confirmed nature differential regulation different field capacity treatments. ESTs generated this subtracted offered a rich source stress-related including components. Additional 50% uncharacterized sequences are noteworthy. Insights gained would provide foundation further studies understand question how peanut plants able adapt naturally occurring harsh conditions. At present validation cannot deemed peanut, hence as proof concept seven orthologues induced have silenced heterologous N. benthamiana system, virus silencing method. These results point out importance HSP70 key such Jumonji response.
