ABSTRACT
Single-incision laparoscopic surgery (SILS) has been proposed as a minimally invasive technique with the advantages of smaller external scars and reduced pain. Furthermore, usage flexible endoscope for SILS in lieu standard laparoscope provides distinct visualization advantages. This video shows single-incision cholecystectomy performed using single incision placed through umbilicus.A 39-year-old woman chronic symptomatic cholelithiasis was enrolled under institutional review board protocol to undergo SILS. She had previously undergone tubal ligation. A made previous umbilical incision, abdomen entered an open fashion. The directly fascial two 5-mm ports on either side. Adhesions gallbladder were taken down harmonic scalpel. Dissection proceeded articulating grasper retraction identify cystic duct artery. artery serially clipped divided. additionally secured loop ligature. cauterized from liver bed hook cautery extracted wound.The final at base umbilicus 7 mm long. operative time 58 min, minimal blood loss recorded. patient discharged home day procedure did not experience any postoperative complications.Single-incision can be safely one umbilicus, optimizing cosmesis.
