ABSTRACT
This study explored demographic, clinical, and psychological moderators of the effect a group-based physical exercise intervention on global quality life (QoL) among cancer survivors who completed treatment. Cancer were assigned to 12-week (n = 147) or wait-list control group 62). The main outcome measure was QoL, assessed with EORTC QLQ-C30 at baseline 12 weeks later. Potential age, gender, education level, marital status, employment type treatment, time since presence comorbidities, fatigue, general self-efficacy, depression, anxiety. Linear regression analyses used test modification by each moderator variable using interaction tests (p ≤ 0.10). QoL larger for received radiotherapy (β 10.3, 95 % confidence interval (CI) 4.4; 16.2) than did not receive 1.8, CI −5.9; 9.5, p 0.10), combination chemoradiotherapy 13.0, 6.0; 20.1) those this treatments 2.5, −3.7; 8.7, 0.02), higher levels fatigue 12.6, 5.7; 19.6) lower 2.4, −3.9; 0.03). No other moderating effects found. suggests that treatment modality moderate program survivors'global QoL.
