ABSTRACT
The aim of this article is to present an original surgical technique for the treatment rigid Adult Idiopathic Scoliosis (AdIS) and results at minimum 2 years follow-up in a cohort 40 patients. We retrospectively reviewed patients affected by AdIS, older than operated with posterior one stage summarized acronym Hi-PoAD, (high-density pedicle screws, Ponte osteotomies, asymmetric rods contouring, direct vertebral rotation). demographic data were collected, improvement clinical scores radiologic parameters was obtained after surgery, 1 final follow-up, assess deformity correction, coronal sagittal balance outcome. The average 2.9 (range 2-3.5). Average Cobb angle decreased from 65.0° ± 8.4 18.9° 3.9 (p < 0.01). Rotation 26.2° 4.4° 12.4° 2.8° Mean thoracic kyphosis improved 23.1° 3.6° 36.0° 3.9°. SRS-22 form 0.4 3.7 0.6 Four early post-operative deep wound infections observed, all healed debridement implant retention. No mechanical complication, junctional kyphosis, progression or non-union recorded last follow-up.Hi-PoAD proved be safe effective Scoliosis. reason success related combined strategies adopted, that dissipates corrective forces over several levels, reducing stress screw-bone interface optimizing potential.
