ABSTRACT
Abstract Purpose This study aims to compare the outcomes of laparoscopic versus open repair techniques in patients undergoing emergency surgery for incarcerated incisional hernia a tertiary care setting. Methods A prospective evaluation was conducted on 45 who underwent and between 2018 August 2021. Patients were divided into two groups based surgical technique used: ( n = 15) 30). Key variables analysed included demographic data, body mass index, American Society Anesthesiologists scores, operative time, perioperative bleeding, length hospital stay, postoperative complications, European Hernia Quality Life pain score, recurrence rates during follow-up. Results Significant differences found regarding amount bleeding. The group demonstrated reduced pain, shorter stays, less bleeding compared group. Conclusion shows that offers significant advantages over repair. These findings support preference management appropriate patients.
