ABSTRACT
In some settings, specific techniques for open reduction and internal fixation are preferred based on the eminence of a surgeon or professional organization. An emphasis technical aspects surgery that not proved superior vary substantially from to can be confusing trainees. This study applied numerical grading tension band wire (TBW) olecranon fracture; assessed interobserver agreement each criterion; measured correlation objective subjective long-term outcomes.Forty observers were invited rate TBW 26 post-operative radiographs. The reliability rating was using intra-class coefficient. between motion, Mayo elbow performance index, disabilities arm, shoulder hand score tested with Spearman's rank test.None figure-of-eight constructs considered perfect according grading: majority found three deviations per fixation. only fair total number no outcome found.A fractures unreliable did correlate outcomes. Emphasis might trainees could distract them principles effective treatment.Level IV diagnostic study.
