ABSTRACT
Abstract The antioxidant and detoxification systems involve intricate pathways in which nuclear factor erythroid 2-related 2 (Nrf2) Kelch-like ECH-associated protein 1 (Keap1) play pivotal roles. In the basal state, reactive oxygen species are generated neutralized a balanced manner. However, stressors can disrupt this equilibrium, resulting oxidative stress cellular damage. study, we analyzed expression of nrf2 keap1 Nile tilapia ( Oreochromis niloticus ) under homeostasis challenge with Aeromonas hydrophila . During homeostasis, predominant was observed liver, blood, muscle, gut, gills, while highly expressed brain, spleen, eye, head kidney, gills. After challenge, spleen demonstrated highest expression, liver displayed levels among tissues examined. Apparently, our findings suggest that may be susceptible to initial damage following infection, leading manifestation first lesion. This susceptibility could attributed spleen’s high , acting as negative regulator Notably, positive correlation between several tissues, strongest association kidney both normal inflammatory conditions. Our indicate blood serve crucial mediator Nrf2/Keap1 signaling like gut during states. By shedding light on altered various study elucidates their potential connection immune responses, well pathological features A. infection.
