ABSTRACT
We aimed to develop a user-centered, web-based, decision support tool for breast cancer risk assessment and personalized management. Using novel model choice algorithm, iPrevent® selects one of two validated estimation models (IBIS or BOADICEA), based on factor data entered by the user. Resulting estimates are presented in simple language graphic formats easy comprehension. then presents risk-adapted, evidence-based, guideline-endorsed management options. Development was an iterative process with regular feedback from multidisciplinary experts consumers. To verify iPrevent®, 127 cases derived Australian Breast Cancer Family Study were into IBIS (v7.02), BOADICEA (v3.0). Consistency chosen (i.e., BOADICEA) programmed algorithm assessed. Estimated risks compared those attained directly BOADICEA). Risk interventions displayed assessed appropriateness. 100 % consistent logic. Discrepant 10-year residual lifetime >1 found 1 4 cases, respectively, none clinically significant (maximal variation 1.4 %). suggested appropriate. successfully integrates that provides risk-adapted advice. This may help facilitate precision prevention discussions between women their healthcare providers.
