ABSTRACT
Abstract Purpose Food insecurity—the lack of unabated access to nutritious foods—is a consequence many cancer survivors face. insecurity is associated with adverse health outcomes and lower diet quality in the general public. The goal this analysis was extract major prevailing dietary patterns among food insecure from observed 24-h recall data evaluate their relationship survival after diagnosis. Methods We implemented two approaches: penalized logistic regression principal components analysis. Using nationally representative National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) study, we extracted three patterns. Additionally, evaluated HEI-2015 for comparison. Cox proportional hazards models assessed between indices Results There were 981 deaths all causes 343 cancer-related deaths. After multivariable adjustment, found higher risks all-cause mortality adherence Pattern #1 (HR 1.25; 95% CI 1.09–1.43) #2 1.15; 1.01–1.31) survivors. Conclusion Among survivors, U.S. survivor population may lead worse outcomes.
