Design Refinement of Rolling Drill bit With Oblique-Tooth Fitting

Results of design refinement of a rolling drill bit fitted with oblique teeth are presented. Geometries of oblique-tooth fittings for drill bits with central and bottom jet flushing are developed. The new alternative designs of rolling drill bits with oblique-tooth fittings, which are described in this paper, make it possible to increase the cutting and mechanical drilling rate owing to more rational geometry of the fitting for the rolling cutter in combination with an effective flushing scheme.
