ABSTRACT
Abstract While some studies have previously estimated lives saved by COVID-19 vaccination, we estimate how many deaths could been averted vaccination in the US but were not because of a failure to vaccinate. We used simple method based on nationally representative dataset preventable among unvaccinated individuals from May 30, 2021 September 3, 2022 adjusted for effects age and time. that at least 232,000 prevented adults during 15 months had they vaccinated with primary series. uncertainties exist regarding exact number more granular data are needed other factors causing differences death rates between groups inform these estimates, this is rapid assessment vaccine-preventable due SARS-CoV-2 has crucial public health implications. The same can be future emergencies.
