The Participation of People with Disabilities in the Workplace Across the Employment Cycle: Employer Concerns and Research Evidence

ABSTRACT
Despite legislation on diversity in the workplace, people with disabilities still do not experience same access to work opportunities as their counterparts without disabilities. Many employers have been shown harbor sincere yet ill-founded views about work-related abilities of disabilities; these negative are often a result interrelated concerns that permeate entire employment cycle. In this paper, we provide evidence-based responses 11 specific disabilities, from pre-employment and entry experiences final dissolution relationship. At each stage cycle, summarize evaluate relevant empirical evidence recommendations for organizations committed creating more effective, equitable, inclusive workplaces all individuals. We also suggest avenues future research.
