ABSTRACT
Abstract This paper presents the ability of Terahertz (THz) radiation in non-destructive testing composite materials used for military applications ballistic protections. The terahertz scanner was to detect defects selected elements consisting aramid fiber-reinforced composites. Two sources radiation, operated at frequencies 100 GHz and 300 GHz, were chosen. results next compared with one obtained via X-ray imaging. preliminary showed that THz has high potential as detection method these materials. There is a significantly higher resolution frequency comparison GHz. Moreover, waves alloweddetecting invisible X-rays. use high-quality led efficient inspection investigated areas confirmed presence such cracks, delamination, lack material, shrinkage material’s interior proving applicability monitoring designated-composite
