ABSTRACT
Surgical resection of medulloblastoma (MB) remains a challenge. At present, variety tracers have been used for intraoperative tumor visualization. However, there are few reports on the visualization MB. Hence, we reported our experience applying fluorescein sodium (FS) in MB surgery. We retrospectively analyzed clinical information patients with confirmed by surgery and pathology from January 2016 to December 2020 Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center. A total 62 were enrolled, which 27 received FS 35 did not. The dose was 3 mg/kg.Among patients, 42 males, twenty females. age onset group 9.588 ± 7.322, non-fluorescein 13.469 10.968, p = 0.198. We not find significant differences location, size, resection, histology, preoperative symptoms (hydrocephalus, headache, vomit, balance disorder) between groups. There no difference postoperative vomiting, disorder, cerebellar mutism). had relatively low incidence disorder mutism. definite fluorescence all cases group, even tiny metastatic lesion visible. No case side effects related use FS.FS is safe effective surgery. Whether application can reduce complications be studied future.
