ABSTRACT
Lipoxygenases mediate important biological processes. Through comparative genomics, domain-scan analysis, sequence phylogenetic homology modelling and transcriptional analysis the lipoxygenase gene family of pepper (Capsicum annuum) has been identified. (LOXs) are non-heme, iron-containing dioxygenases playing a pivotal role in diverse processes plants, including defence development. Here, we exploited recent sequencing genome to investigate LOX pepper. Two classes recognized, 9- 13-LOXs that oxygenate lipids at 9th 13th carbon atom, respectively. Using two main in-silico approaches, identified total eight LOXs Phylogenetic classified four (CaLOX1, CaLOX3, CaLOX4 CaLOX5) as 9-LOXs (CaLOX2, CaLOX6, CaLOX7 CaLOX8) 13-LOXs. Furthermore, similarity/identity subcellular localization strengthen classification predicted by analysis. Pivotal amino acids together with all domains motifs highly conserved LOXs. Expression appeared be more dynamic compared both response exogenous JA application thrips feeding. Bioinformatic expression analyses predict putative functions 13-LOXs, CaLOX6 CaLOX7, biosynthesis Green Leaf Volatiles, involved indirect defence. The data discussed context families solanaceous plants other families.
