ABSTRACT
Abstract This study explores how attitudes toward talking about sex and sexual matters influence practices regarding sexuality, rights, abuse in residential institutions for people with disabilities Greenland. 16 residents aged 17–62 29 managers staff from 8 have been interviewed the ways needs rights are treated discussed as well harassment violations prevented or handled. The results of show that there great variations between meeting residents’ needs, sex, education, knowledge rules policies area. While some quite comfortable to each other boundaries, body, others find it extremely difficult even reject thought a relevant topic residents. Regardless level openness institutions, express need more education focus on they can best help, guide, protect residents, but guidance is much available when feel sex. Sexual illegal contact might take place regardless local education. However, help detect overstepped boundaries stop earlier.
